Kevin Durant was asked about David West taking less $$ today. Answer won't exactly stop speculation of him to Spurs: pic.twitter.com/Q58SpAfk5M

Kevin Durant threw some coals onto the speculation fire today while discussing David West and the San Antonio Spurs. Add to that fire a Marc Stein reported that the Spurs would try to move around contracts to make a run at Durant this summer. With the looming NBA Free agency Durant would the biggest prize for any team that he so chooses. Every team in the NBA would like the services of Durant on their team.
David West turned down a significant amount of money to sign with the Spurs. West contract is only for $1.5 million after turning down a $12 million dollar player option from the Pacers. I personally can’t see Durant turning down that much money to sign with the Spurs. Durant comments do however suggest to me that a max offer will not secure him and he has no problem taking less to win.
