Even though both Donovan and I are on Yardbarker.com he obviously didn’t read my story on why going to the Raiders is not a bad thing because according to TMZ.com it would be the one place he would refuse to go.
Normally I have no problem with TMZ news because to be honest they are more on top of things than some of the major news organizations, but this is a bit outside the box for them. Here is what they had to say:
There have been multiple reports that the Oakland Raiders are the front-runners to acquire the Pro Bowl QB through a blockbuster trade — but a source close to McNabb tells TMZ, “He does NOT want to play for the Raiders and would refuse the trade.”
My sources haven’t heard anything about McNabb refusing to go anywhere. If anything he isn’t involved in the process. From a practical matter he can’t block a trade and since he is under contract for one more year if he refuses to play he loses over 10 million dollars. So if the Eagles trade him wherever that might be he is going to show up.
Of course he can make things difficult and he doesn’t have to sign an extension, which might make some teams leery of trading for him, but the Raiders have no problem trading for players who don’t want to come there (see: Richard Seymour).
For now McNabb is still Eagle and until something happens it is just rumors and speculation.
