Details Revealed: Vince Young Issued Citation For Assault at Club Onyx in Dallas

The cops have reviewed the tape and decided to give Vince Young a ticket for his scuffle at Club Onyx in Dallas.  Here are the details from CBS 11 in Dallas:

The altercation allegedly broke out after words were exchanged in a back office at Club Onyx on 10557 Wire Way near Interstate 35E in Northwest Dallas.

The video shows Young in a back office talking to a manager. Another man in the office makes a derogatory hand sign in reference to the University of Texas, Young’s alma mater, and says something to the quarterback.

Young is then seen talking to the manager for a few more moments before charging after the man who made the hand signal. A fight involving multiple people then breaks out.

The first call to police came at about 3:38 a.m. and reported “two black males fighting in the parking lot.”

Club security made a second call to police at 4:06 a.m., and an ambulance was called at about 5:30 a.m. Police believe Young left the scene before officers arrived, a DPD official said.

Vince will be fined up to $500, and that’s before factoring in:

ROGER GOODELL

As we all know, the Commish doesn’t need a conviction to lay down the long arm of the law.  According to the police, it is clear that Vince Young was in a fight, and while it won’t amount to jail time in the criminal sense, it might amount to jail time in the Court of Goodell.

If it is true and the fight occurred just because someone was making fun of Vince’s Alma Mater, Texas, then I have to believe his Wonderlic scores were right on the money — because he would have to be the biggest idiot on the planet.

You are a multi-millionaire, starting quarterback on a NFL team … and you are scuffling because someone says “Texas Sucks?”

Are you serious?

We truly do live in a bizarro society.

I have talked to some people who were at the scene, and they seem to believe that Vince was provoked.  To me that doesn’t matter — all celebrities are provoked.  It goes back to the “rent check” guy I was speaking about in the previous article.  You have to keep your cool.  As Jay-Z once said:

“You shoot me you’re famous, I shoot you I’m brainless”

Everyone is looking for their 15 minutes of fame; Vince has to be smart enough to know when to walk away from a situation where people are trying to make a name for themselves.

If I am a Titan fan, I’m worried that this guy is the leader of our team.
