Hi, what are you looking for?

Allen Iverson: “I Am Not Ready to Play Yet in Turkey”

If you recall I said A.I. “fading to Turkey” would lead to one or two things.  Either he would become a hugh international star and have a second chance at the NBA or he would be sent packing back the US by New Year’s day.

The latter appears to be most likely.  Iverson’s debut in Turkey had to be delayed because he didn’t deem himself ready to play.

Former NBA All-Star Allen Iverson‘s debut with Turkish basketball league team Besiktas has been postponed.

Team manager Murat Murtezaoglu told The Associated Press the 11-time NBA All-Star “did not feel ready” to play Friday and instead watched from the stands as his new team beat Oyak Renault 87-81.

Murtezaoglu said he expects Iverson to make his debut at Besiktas’ European Cup home game against Hemofarm Stada on Tuesday.

He wasn’t to out of shape to party and what has A.I. been doing the last six months? If he truly was hoping to be with a NBA team this year, why isn’t he in basketball shape?

He had plenty of free time on his hands and he knew for weeks that he was probably going to sign a contract with Turkey, so why wasn’t he ready?

That was very unprofessional on his part, god forbid if they ask him to practice too.
