Not like this jacket is going to protect any other body part that Vick manages to get injured with every hit he takes.
While at the Eagles practice on Tuesday, Vick said thats he’s still feeling the effects of a hit he endured eight days ago.
“Still sore,” he told the Philadelphia Daily News after practice. “Feels a lot better. … Working through it.”
Vick will be starting in the season opener against the Cleveland Browns wearing a new Kevlar flak jacket designed to protect his torso better than his previous jacket.
“I really can’t explain what goes into the type of material,” Vick said. “I’m just trying something different — that’s all I can tell you … It’s Kevlar. I’m looking forward to it … to give me more protection and just to see what comes out of it. It’s going to be custom fitted and fitted to protect all across my sternum, across my ribs. I think it’ll be a better fit.”
When Vick takes President Obama’s advice and “slide” he won’t have to worry about suffering any injuries. Yet, the makers of the jacket guarantees Vick won’t get hurt.
“I guarantee he will not get hurt,” Rob Vito, CEO of Unequal Technologies, told ESPN.com on Wednesday.
“What Michael is wearing was born on the battlefield and forged on the gridiron,” Vito said.
Thats a strong statement but Vick seems to be excited.
“I’m looking forward to it … to give me more protection and just to see what comes out of it,” Vick told the Philadelphia Daily News after Tuesday’s practice. “It’s going to be custom-fitted and fitted to protect all across my sternum, across my ribs. I think it’ll be a better fit.”
