At 4-4, the Seattle Seahawks are only a .500 team halfway through the season. They have fielded a much better defense than people expected and rookie 3rd round quarterback Russell Wilson has had them in almost all of their games.
Their head coach believes they are much better than what their record indicates.
Per 710 AM in Seattle: Carroll was quoted as saying, “It’s so close. We’re so encouraged by where we are and what we’ve done. Look at these games. After eight games — we could easily be 8-0. We could be 8-0 right now.
Carroll also added, “And I think — I hate to think of it this way — but if you go ahead and you look at us a year ahead from now, when these guys have been through all of this, then all of these edges that we need — these little edges that you need — if they fall in our favor then we have a great football team.”
Seattle’s 4 losses have all been by 7 points or less. So one could certainly understand where Carroll is coming from.
At the same time though, they also have wins by 1, 2, and 4 points. Their record could also easily be a lot worse.
In all actuality they are a .500 team who still has a shot at the playoffs. Pete should perhaps focus more on what is, and not what could have been.
