New York Giants tight end Martellus Bennett catches a lot of flack for his comments and some of his all the field activities.
Last night made a catch, no pun intended that was brave, and might have saved a life.
USA Today is reporting that after the Giants victory over the Packers, Bennett was on his way back through the tunnel, when a grown man plunged about 15 feet from the stands.
Bennett was there and alert enough to catch him.
Bennett in his usual demeanor even joked he wanted to step back and let him fall.
“I was doing what I usually do, moseying to the locker room and meandering around,” the colorful Bennett said. “Naturally, I just wanted to step back, but I did the righteous thing and I stepped up. I caught him, I saved his life, I tapped into my inner superhero, which I do have.”
“I’m usually a ninja, but my Spidey-senses told me he was going to take a fall, so I saved his life. He owes me his first-born or something. Actually I don’t want that. Maybe a sandwich or something.”
The fan was eventually arrested on undisclosed charges.
What is even more hilarious with this story, is the young boy who had the senses to duck as the man was already in his fall.
