I know this will sound crazy, but I am going to defend Cousins a bit.
Before I do, let me say as a player you can’t confront announcers no matter how stupid they sound at times. With that being said, it seems unfair that announcers can talk about your character and you can’t say anything in return.
The story goes as follows.
The Kings and Spurs played on Friday Night. Sean Elliott who is a former Spurs player and uber bias current broadcaster of the team was lighting into Cousins during the game.
Cousins started to talk some trash to Tim Duncan until Duncan rejected a shot by Cousins. That caused Elliott to make these comments.
“That’s why some humility is in order,” Elliott said on the air. “You think you’re dominating Tim Duncan, you get it stuffed right back in your face. Timmy doesn’t like to talk trash. But if guys start talking mess to him, he’s going to respond. All that trash talking was premature. I’m not about to let these guys off the hook. Young ballclub should learn from this. Don’t start talking and flapping your gums against one of the greatest players ever. He’s going to make you pay. Tell me who got the best of this exchange.”
After the game Cousins was told about what Elliott said and wanted to talk to him about it. An argument took place and Elliott said he felt threatened which leads to this.

Elliott is soft. Don’t talk and then run to the NBA when you are confronted about it. How about being an unbiased broadcaster and not such a homer. Sounded like a Tim Duncan groupie.
Cousins has a bad reputation, so he has to understand that he can’t do these things, no one will give him the benefit of the doubt.
