The Cleveland Browns front office is now finally set in stone with the hiring of NFL Network analyst Michael Lombardi.
Lombardi was fairly critical of Weeden during the draft process last year so many wonder how that translates to working with the young man.
Lombardi indicated that he hasn’t made a decision on Weeden yet, and admitted that he evaluated him last year as a media member, which is totally different.
Lombardi during his press conference tried to provide answers those questions and several more via Pro Football Talk.
“It’s a different evaluation from a media perspective,” Lombardi said. “I think it’s going to take some time to study him. I’ve got to go back through and watch practice tapes. I think when you live in the building, I think you have a better understanding of the player moving forward, have an evaluation and do that. So it’s going to take some time for me to really formulate my final opinions of him. I think when you do media you certainly have commentary of games, but now I think it’s a different set of circumstances.”
Weeden may be in trouble if the Browns can find a viable replacement.
