High School Basketball Player Josh Level Dies On The Court

Tragedy has struck a North Carolina basketball team as 17 year old, Josh Level, died after collapsing on court in the middle of a game.

As reported by Fox Sports Carolinas Level was taken to Wake Forest Medical Center and shortly after pronounced dead. The immediate cause of death is not yet known. Level played for Quality Education Academy in Winston-Salem.

By morning the hash tag ‘RIPJoshLevel’ was a trending topic as his fellow students and teammates paid homage to him. GreensboroSports.com put out the following statement:

“It pains us deeply to inform you of the loss tonight of one of our students.

 ”Josh Level, a junior at NGFS, died after collapsing during a basketball game at Quality Education in Winston-Salem. We will provide you with information as it comes available about funeral arrangements.

“Tomorrow we will have Meeting for Worship in the morning, and we will have counselors on site for students, staff and faculty. We know that you join us in conveying the deepest sorrow and most sincere condolences of the New Garden Friends School community to Josh’s parents and family.”

Level’s family told reporters that Josh had been recruited by UNC Charlotte, Wake Forest, Oklahoma State, Cleveland State, VCU and Virginia Tech.

No doubt his life was taken far too soon. One could only imagine the impact he may have had. Our condolences.
