New York Giants tight end Martellus Bennett finally made the strides this season that made him a second round pick of the Cowboys in 2008.
The Giants have been making roster moves to try to get under the cap and create some roster flexibility. Bennett might have been under the impression that some of that flexibility was meant to resign him.
Bennett was fielding questions from WFAN on twitter earlier today, and one of the questions was about whether or not he’d return to the Giants.
According to Pro Football Talk, Bennett “doesn’t know, and really isn’t feeling the love” from the G-Men.
“I dunno bro. Not feeling the love,” Bennett wrote. “They have other priorities that come before little ole me. I’m just a small piece of what they’re trying to do there. … I’ve come to the conclusion that we are just temporary investments to the owners. Value money and growth over players. … Just like any business. Employees aren’t as valuable as we use to be. Everyone needs a job. Lol.”
The Giants already made a huge move locking up left tackle Will Beatty. Bennett could be next, or he could be departing.
