Warren Sapp is a first ballot Hall of Famer, but many are questioning whether he would be or should have been. Pro Football Talk via JoeBucsFan, is reporting that Sapp initially had doubts he would make it.
When asked if he had doubts, Sapp stated, “absolutely.” Sapp then acknowledged that he thought he would lose his spot to Michael Strahan, who he dubbed a “media darling.”
“Say if I rewind this to Saturday at 12 o’clock me and you are sitting and I say, ‘It breaks down whatever and whatever and then you have Michael Strahan and me. C’mon, the menace and the media darling,’” Sapp told WDAE in Tampa, via JoeBucsFan.com. “C’mon. Madness, or Good Morning America? I mean, c’mon.”
Sapp has a point on the different view people have on the two and how they are perceived, but from a statistical and dominant point of view, Sapp really shouldn’t have had any worries.
