Jacksonville Jaguars starting quarterback Blaine Gabbert is 5-19 as a starter, has been blamed for the teams lack of success, and is fully aware that the team will probably select a his replacement in this years draft.
Gabbert tho is not ready to give his position up yet, and as he told the Florida Times-Union, “he’s going to fight for his job, and it’s going to be fun.”
“The best guy is going to win,” Gabbert told The Florida Times-Union’s Ryan O’Halloran. “That’s why this sport is so intriguing to people and so fun to be a part of. The competition is daily. Every practice will be a mini-game. You need to put your best foot forward regardless of the situation. That uncomfortable feeling is a good feeling and that’s why good teams are successful — because they have that competition.
“It’s going to be a blast.”
Gabbert is not entering this season blind and that’s a good thing. He has a new head coach and general manager. We all know in sports that new coaches and new general managers like to roll with players they select.
The question now will be can Ryan Nassib, Landry Jones, Tyler Wilson or Zac Dysert be better than Gabbert in the NFL.
