The Rockets shouldn’t get too excited about anything, but as we reported yesterday, going to the Rockets might make more personal and basketball sense for Dwight Howard than staying with the Lakers.
Dwight is starting to send out signals via his yes men that he is seriously considering the Rockets.
Sources close to the process told ESPN.com that the Rockets have received what has been described as “hopeful signals” that Howard is seriously considering a jump from the Lakers to the Rockets after becoming a free agent July 1.
Sources say Howard, furthermore, has already made it clear he’ll field in-person recruiting visits from the Rockets and Dallas Mavericks once free agency begins. It’s possible, sources said, that other teams will be added to the list.
Dwight wants to be wined and dined, so we will see. Teams need to be aware that Howard’s yes men are the same advisers who wanted him in Brooklyn, so take all these reports with a grain a salt.
