A player’s greatest strength can also be his greatest weakness.
The things that we love about Kobe Bryant (he’s drive, passion, killer mentality on the court) are the same things that get him in trouble. He thinks he can do it all and at times it is a detriment to this team.
James is the opposite, his DNA tells to make the right play all the time, there isn’t a selfish basketball bone in his body. 99 out of 100 times that is a good thing, now though it is being used against him. The Spurs are baiting him, they don’t feel THE OTHERS can beat them, so they are encouraging Bron to make the right play. They don’t crowd him, they don’t aggressively double team him, they just shrink the lane, come at him at different angles and say you can either take a jumper or pass to one of your teammates.
His teammates are hit and miss. Mike Miller and Ray Allen are doing well. Chalmers and Cole are hot and cold. That is to be expected, the problem is Bosh and Wade are being outplayed by the Spurs supporting cast. Tim Duncan, Tony Parker and Manu aren’t having great series, but the Spurs’ Others are beating the Heat’s Others so far.
LeBron refused to go to the podium after Game 3, but did make these comments in the Locker Room after the game.
“I’ve got to be better,” James said after the San Antonio Spurs crushed the Miami Heat 113-77 in Game 3 on Tuesday.
“I’m putting everything on my chest and on my shoulders,” James said. “I’ve got to be better. It’s that simple. My teammates are doing a great job, and I’m not doing my part.”
This is exactly what Coach Pop wants, the pressure to start mounting on LeBron’s shoulders. Every superstar has a chink in their armor, LeBron’s might be that when things get tight, he gets tight and starts to think too much. We will know a lot more about Bron’s progression as a player in Game 4. These are the type of games that sets a star player apart from a legendary player.
LeBron James is undisputed best basketball player on the planet. His team desperately need him, we will see hat happens.
