Pythagorean Theorem

This is a true story.

When I was like in 6th or 7th grade we were being taught about the Pythagorean Theorem. In my youth, my mouth worked a little faster than my brain.

I like to say I was quizzical child, my mom likes to say I had a smart mouth, but that is neither here nor there. I got bored during class, because I had figured out the Pythagorean Theorem, but some of my classmates were struggling a bit. So, I just randomly blurted out.

“Why do we have to learn the Pythagorean Theorem? The likelihood any of us actually using it in the real world is slim and none, I am going to be a sportscaster not an architect.”

I got sent to the principle office, but I digress. Many years later, I am in sports media, but I guess the teacher gets the last laugh because of this.
