You can’t call the San Francisco 49ers disloyal.
On the heels of Aldon Smith’s embarrassing DUI arrest, and subsequent trip to rehab earlier this week, Jason La Canfora is reporting that the 49ers will still pay Smith his weekly game check.

The 49ers obviously could have withheld game checks because Smith is missing game for non football related reasons.
Smith, who entered in-patient treatment for substance abuse has a base salary of $1.68 million this season. The 49ers will pay him his weekly salary of $98,978 during his leave of absence.
Sources say he won’t return to action until it is deemed he has made “significant progress,” a source said.
