A few nights ago JR Smith took a shot at his Knicks teammates by calling them out and questioning their heart. He basically said that they were letting teams do whatever they wanted to them and its all about testing your heart.
Well Amar’e Stoudamire didn’t quite appreciate that and after another loss yesterday to the Bulls, he was asked about JR’s comments:
“You have to look at yourself in the mirror before we make statements,’’ Stoudemire said when asked about the comments. “We got to make sure you’re playing hard first. You take care of yourself and then everyone else will follow suit. Until you do it yourself, then you can lead by example.’’
I tend to agree with Amar’e on this one. JR probably isn’t the one to be calling people out after games and then untying shoes and pulling headbands on the court. This team really just needs to be blown up because this season is looking lost.
