Al Haymon is racking up the signings.
I’m not sure how much he has left, but if Haymon can get something out of Chad Dawson, he will become the Zen Master. Boxing Scene is reporting that Dawson has inked a deal with the powerful Haymon.
“We’ll have him fighting at 175 pretty soon,” said Watson, “probably in May.”
Sam Watson, who works closely with Haymon, confirmed the signing to BoxingScene.
Dawson, a promotional free agent, is looking to regroup after losing back to back fights, by knockout, to Andre Ward and Adonis Stevenson. Dawson has been out of the ring since last June’s loss to Stevenson.
At 31-years-old, Dawson believes he is young enough and has plenty of time to get his career back to the top.
In the last few weeks, Haymon also added Stevenson and top welterweight contender Luis Collazo to his stable.
Dawson joins an impressive stable of fighters who are aligned with Haymon, including Floyd Mayweather Jr., Danny Garcia, Marcos Maidana, Adrien Broner, Lucas Matthysse, Peter Quillin, Deontay Wilder, Keith Thurman, Shawn Porter, Devon Alexander, Paulie Malignaggi and Luis Collazo.
