The Bulls gave the Heat a run for their money in yesterday’s matchup and ending up handing Lebron and company a resounding defeat. Joakim Noah’s dad made a quite an impression when ABC tried to do an in-game interview with him, but he opted instead to ignore them and watch his son play according to USA Today.
Noah’s dad, Yannick, is known for being very expressive at his son’s games, so this isn’t anything unusual. It was just humorous to watch the scene unfold as Yannick basically told the reporter that he’s sorry but he has to watch his son play. After the game, Joakim added his thoughts about his dad’s emotional state at his games.
“I know that he’s happy. I can’t wait to see him and just celebrate this win with him. You know, I don’t get to see him a lot. My father’s always been there for me, my whole life, and to be able to share these moments with him — I know that he’s a nervous wreck during games. I always tell him to drink a brewski and just chill.”
I don’t think drinking a beer would have calmed Yannick down in that moment either. It’s hard to watch your son lock down one of the most dominant players in the NBA in Lebron James, win a loose ball, and then take it to the other end of the court with no sort of emotion.
