San Francisco’s public transit system Bay Area Transit system, also known as BARTs, is experiencing an interesting issue. The company is receiving new trains, but someone may have either been playing a practical joke on them or they just didn’t know. The seats on all the new trains are colored neon green and blue, which just so happens to be the team colors of the 49ers new emerging rivals the Seattle Seahawks. This has caused such a stir in the city that fans have taken a petition out on Change.org to protest the color choices and have BARTs change the colors immediately.
“The Seattle Seahawks are the chief rivals of the San Francisco 49ers. To outfit BART car seats in the team colors of the Seattle Seahawks (i.e. neon green and blue) is an outrage and a slap in the face of every San Francisco 49ers fan who rides BART. We call upon BART General Manager Grace Crunican (who oddly enough worked as Director of the Seattle Department of Transportation prior to joining BART) to scrap plans to adorn BART car seats in neon green and blue and instead choose other colors.”
The fact that fans took out a petition against the seat colors on the city’s public transit system is hilarious and just shows how team alliances and rivalries know no boundaries. These fans obviously did their research because they know the new BART’s director’s resume.
