Even though he’s been asked by Browns owner Jimmy Haslam to “tone down” his partying ways, Johnny Manziel has zero intention of scaling back his offseason fun. Case in point, Manziel’s recent trip on the Justin Bieber/Money Mayweather fun train just prior to the July 4th holiday weekend. While Haslam and a few of the Browns players are getting tired of Manziel’s antics, one fellow NFL player has his back, as Jets RB Chris Johnson told NFL.com’s Dave Damashek that his advice to Johnny Football would be to keep on keeping on.
“Be your own man,” Johnson said. “Do what you got to do. It’s the offseason. That’s when you get time to do whatever you want to do and live your life. I’m pretty sure once the season gets here, he’ll be all right. He’s going to focus in on football. But this is the time now to where he’ll be able to hang out and do some of the things you want to do. Because once the season gets here, you really have no life. It’s just football and football.”
I’m with CJ2K on this one. The kid’s one of the most rich and famous 21-year-old’s in the world, so by definition he’s gotta party like any other person in his age and income bracket, which is all fine and good so long as Manziel’s extracurricular fun stops when the season starts.
