Jamaal Charles is one of the premiere running backs in the NFL, but he aspires to be compared to the great ones when it’s all said and done.
Charles told the Associated Press he that wants to be mentioned in the same breath as Emmitt Smith and Barry Sanders.
“It’s all about staying consistent,” Charles said. “I want to be in the Hall of Fame when I retire. I want to win a championship. That’s what it’s all about.”
Charles like so many others is allowed to dream. He’ll never be viewed in such a light. He’s never led his team to a championship and his workload can’t compare.
The most carries Charles has ever had in a season is 285. Sanders and Smith each had seven seasons of more than 300 carries.
