The Denver Nuggets mascot Rocky, is in some hot water with the team for making an unsanctioned appearance at a GOP rally hosted by Mitt Romney on Monday.
The actor who plays the very acrobatic mountain lion was seen at the rally in full costume posing with young republicans, from the Colorado GOP twitter page
The tweet was soon deleted, but it was too late. The Nuggets issued the following statements about the actions of their mascot:
Wincott said the KSE management team met Tuesday “with the actor who plays Rocky to figure out exactly how it happened and what transpired and get to the bottom of how all this occurred.”
Wincott said the matter was being handled “internally” but the organization is setting “new protocol for anyone who wears a mascot uniform for a Kroenke sports team.”
The rally in question was hosted by Mitt Romney, in support of Bob Beauprez who’s running for governor. One can understand the team’s anger about their mascot going in full costume to political rallies, but still…
