This is truly so cold, but hilarious as hell all in one. It just shows that you have to truly watch what you post on social media for everyone to see.
Houston Texans fan Alice Rodriguez a huge fan of the team, and likely one of their most loyal supporters. She’s constantly at Texans homes games, and was given the opportunity to check out her team on the road thanks to her boyfriend.
Rodriguez was scheduled to fly to Jacksonville for the Jags-Texans contest when something fishy happened. Via Khou.com.
“I was like ‘Oh my God! I’m going to Jacksonville for my birthday!'”
Carlos posted a picture of the boarding passes to the Traveling Texans Facebook fan page. Shortly after, he was surprised when he received an email from the airline stating that his tickets had been cancelled.
“I mean, what could happen with just a picture of her boarding pass?” Alice asked.
Turned out a prankster, who went by the twitter name “Duval Undertaker”, saw the picture and confirmation number then cancelled their tickets. He even bragged about the prank online. Eventually, the airline reissued Alice’s tickets and they continued onto Florida.
“We had no idea what was going on, on social media or anything.”
During their flight to Florida, the story exploded online.
“I had text messages, I had several Facebook messages. A lot of the Facebook messages were from Jaguars!” Alice said.
Rival fans offered their apologies, drinks and even an invite to a Jaguar tailgate.
“We got there and it was, like
Alice and Carlos attended the rival tailgate and even took pictures with the rival mascot. Then they were surprised with sideline passes to the game., unbelievable because everybody knew us! It was like, ‘you are those Texan fans!'”
