The Houston Rockets were rolling until Josh Smith came along, so I’m not sure what the issues is here. At full strength they lost to the New Orleans Pelicans 111-83 on Friday, their third loss in four games.
During that ballgame, head coach Kevin McHale benched his starters for what he deemed “terrible play.” When asked about the struggles, Dwight Howard led with the typical stop finger pointing phrase.
We have to find a way to bring some energy and sustain it for 48 minutes,” [Dwight] Howard said, adding there “were times” the Rockets indulged in finger pointing. “We can’t be negative when we mess up. All the negative energy will just pull you down, so we have to find a way to stay positive.”
I mentioned Josh Smith in the beginning. The Rockets for whatever its worth have struggled since Dwight Howard’s best friend made his way to Houston.
