A warrant has been issued for the arrest of former University of Louisville basketball player Chris Jones on charges of rape and sodomy. The warrant was obtained by University of Louisville police and was issued on Wednesday by Jefferson District Judge Katie King.
The warrant states that one of the women involved was hospitalized on Sunday and was able to identify Jones as her alleged rapist. There were two women involved; One is 19 and the other 20, according to the warrant.
Jones was dismissed from the team on Sunday for another incident involving threatening to smack a his girlfriend, is expected to surrender in court this morning.
The alleged sexual assault/rape occurred on Saturday night, after Jones led Louisville to a home victory over Miami. The two women involved are not the same women that were involved in the texting incident.
Jones and his co-defendants plead not guilty.
