Kevin Love is having a pretty decent season, he is averaging 17 points, 10.2 rebound and 2.3 assists but seems to get lost in the offense at times. Those numbers are pretty good but not the 26 points and 12 rebounds he has averaged over the last 4 season as the number 1 option in Minnesota.
The Cavs have played pretty well as of late, but with Kevin Love as the 3rd star on the team, he has falling into the role of a floor spacer or stretch-four. Love doesn’t label himself as a stretch-four but has accepted the role requested of him.
“I heard some people calling me that but I know I’m not a stretch-four. I’m a post player who can shoot.
“Right now I’m just doing what I’m called to do. For good, bad or indifferent, I’m playing my role and doing what’s asked of me.”
Kevin Love could become a free agent if he chooses to opt out of his contract. His role with the Cavs could be a focal point on his decision to stay with the Cavs or move on to a team where he can have a bigger role.
