Former Patriots running back Stevan Ridley will be signing with the division rival New York Jets, according to NFL network’s Ian Rapaport. At 26 years old, Ridley still has a lot of miles left on the tread, and the Jets will be looking to run a ball-control offense with limited QB play. Ridley is coming off a season in which he only played 6 games before tearing his ACL in a game against the Buffalo Bills week 6. In 2013 rushed for 773 yards and 10 TDs but basically received a demotion for fumbling away the ball too much. Ridley’s deal with the Jets will be for one season, giving him a chance to re-establish his value after the ACL injury and prepare for free-agency again in 2016. If he can hold on to the ball, Ridley will be a bargain for the Jets.
