This isn’t the news DeAndre Jordan or Dwight Howard wanted to hear.
There’s been an outcry for the ‘Hack-A-Shaq’ rule to be vacated, but it doesn’t appear NBA executives have a major problem with it.
“There is not enough support to change it,” one executive in the meeting said. “It’s one of those perception is bigger than reality issues.”
When you look at the numbers, it makes sense to why a lot of executives want to keep the rule. 76 percent of the intentional fouls this season were committed on only five players, which include DeAndre Jordan, Dwight Howard, Andre Drummond, Josh Smith and Joey Dorsey.
“It’s part of the game,” one of the executives said. “You need to make your free throws.”
Time to get in the gym guys and work on them free throws.
