CSU basketball player Gian Clavell was arrested and jailed Thursday by campus police for alleged harassment and false imprisonment, with a domestic violence enhancement, according to the Larimer County Sheriff’s Office.
Gian Louis Clavell-Lopez remained in jail Friday morning, according to the sheriff’s office. The 22-year-old guard from Puerto Rico has been suspended from Colorado State University’s basketball program, an athletic department spokesman said in a news release.
CSU police officers witnessed the incident at 9:45 a.m. involving a female student, a school spokesperson said, and made the arrest near the intersection of Meridian Avenue and South Drive on the school’s campus. No incident or arrest report was available Friday morning, spokesperson Dell Rae Ciaravola said.
