The Denver Broncos want no problems with the NFL, so divulged some late minute roster updates by putting Peyton Manning on the injury report for treatment on his ribs according to PFT.
Per a source with knowledge of the situation, Manning received treatment for the condition on Saturday morning, prompting the decision to disclose the condition.
It’s unclear how long the condition had been bothering him before Saturday morning.
Like many teams, the Broncos apparently interpret the injury-reporting rules to require disclosure of a condition if the player receives treatment for the injury. From the NFL’s perspective, it’s unclear whether that’s good enough; in theory, a player can suffer from an injury without receiving any specific treatment on the injured body part other than rest.
The Colts are currently being looked at by the league after GM Ryan Grigson failed to disclose Andrew Luck’s alleged rib injury.
