It appears Scott will be called into the principal’s office to discuss some of his coaching decisions. If the goal is to tank he is doing a great job, if they actually want him to win games, I can see why they would be upset.
Here are the details.
The Lakers have granted Scott the autonomy to coach his team without interference. But Kupchak and/or Buss will likely meet with Scott next week after the team’s eight-game trip to gain a better understanding of his thought process on how he will develop the team’s young players, according to a team source familiar with the situation.
They aren’t going to fire Scott, because the season is already lost, so might as well just let him coach it out and start fresh with him and Kobe gone.
They can fire him in the offseason and hire someone more suited to handle all the Lakers young talent.
