Johnny Manziel — in my opinion — loves being famous, more than he loves the game of football — so it doesn’t really matter if he ever pans out in the NFL.
That in its essence — may be his biggest problem.
LeBron James befriended Johnny Manziel — hoping some of wisdom and Nike connections could rub off on the former Heisman Trophy winner.
Manziel — the soon to be an ex-Browns quarterback – had his ties with James’ agency LRMR severed after reports of Johnny rushing off to Vegas in disguise.
Asked following the Rockets game that if Manziel could ever return to the fold — James said he only concerned in Johnny getting his life in order.
“The only concern for everyone is to see him back on the football field, but doing it at a professional level, and being able to get back to the caliber of player that he was back when he was an Aggie,” James said. “We don’t know … we’re not around him every day. Even being a business partner of his at the time, I wasn’t around him every day.
“What’s most important is him getting things in order for him, individually. And then the sport side of the thing will take care of itself.”
Johnny will be cool financially for the rest of his life — being good at football is a choice he’ll have to make.
