CBS Sports Ananth Pandian is reporting that the New York Knicks agreed to a 10-day contract with Fredette Monday morning. The Knicks are 9 games under .500 so trying add another piece to puzzle was something won’t hurt at this point in the season. With an aging superstar in Carmelo Anthony the Knicks needed to add to their roster.
The good thing about the signing is that Fredette played for their D-League affiliate the Westchester Knicks so he has some familiarity with the triangle offense. However the knock on Fredette is that he can be a liability on defense which is something the Knicks can’t afford. It’s highly doubtful that Fredette will be the savior for the Knicks season, but playing in the Eastern Conference he can at least help the team push for an 8 seed in the playoffs. With the past couple of seasons the Knicks have had even they would consider that an accomplishment.
