The Boston Celtics tried to make a huge move during the trade deadline by trading for Chicago Bulls star Jimmy Butler. Butler has been out with injury since Feb. 5, that didn’t stop the Celtics from offering two first round picks according to Steve Bulpett from Boston Herald report:
According to one source that had at least one player who could have been involved in the potential transaction, the Celtics were willing to give up two first-round draft picks this year — the unprotected pick from the Nets and Dallas’ choice, which is protected 1-through-7.
The Bulls rejected the deal as they felt that they was getting they were getting lowballed. K.C. Johnson from the Chicago Tribune reports:
Per that Boston Herald report that the Celtics targeted Jimmy Butler, told offer was of lowball variety and talks didn't advance.

This would have been a nice move for Boston if they could had made a more realistic deal.
