In the sleaziest move by the people who support Donald Trump, a memorial for a 22-year old student who died earlier this week was painted over ”in support” of the Republican candidate.
Jeffrey Allan Matthews was a member of the Omega Psi Phi fraternity at Madison University in Virginia. His memorial was created over several hours on Friday night and by the next morning, the memorial was gone. Details via WatchTheYard:
According to a source who reached out to WatchTheYard.com, the Omega vigil was last seen at 2am and the Trump one was seen at 7am, meaning that the vigil was only up for a total of 5 hours and someone decided to paint over it between the hours of 2 and 7am on a Saturday morning.
It’s one of the saddest things a person could do, but if you’re surprised, you haven’t been paying enough attention to the Trump campaign. Which I completely understand, I feel like I’m caught in a place between ignoring the bull-shit circus and hoping it dies and pointing out that he is running for president (and winning) by being a sub-human and giving him the attention that he wants.
Rest in peace to Jeffrey and to all of his friends and family left dealing with this mess. To the people who painted over this memorial, remember that what you put into this life always comes back to you.
