Let’s just be honest a lot of players don’t care for Dwight Howard.
That is just the way it is, he got his $23.5 million that he was seeking, but it likely cost the Hawks Al Horford.
Now, if you feel the Hawks are better off with Howard than Horford, that is one thing. Them being together would have given the Hawks a pretty formidable frontline, but alas Horford decided to sign with Celtics.
Factor No. 1, according to league sources: Horford was none too pleased with how reluctant the Hawks were to come forward with a full five-year max. Factor No. 2: Atlanta’s signing of Dwight Howard. Could there be a more contradicting force in the NBA to Horford than Howard, in terms of substance vs. style?
“He didn’t want to play with Dwight,” a person familiar with the situation told CBS Sports.
Money is always the main factor, but being comfortable with who is on the court matters as well.
