If you haven’t heard of Bobby Roode from his days in TNA don’t worry too much; he just made his NXT Takeover in-ring debut and his current character is better than anything he’s ever done before.
The best word to describe Roode is “Glorious!”
His gimmick is the perfect mixture of Ric Flair & Rick Rude. He’s the guy all wrestlers and fans want to hate but can’t.
After making his grand arrival on Saturday, Roode’s theme song “Glorious Domination” shot to the top of the iTunes soundtrack charts and his video is crushing WWE Youtube records. Here’s some more details courtesy of WrestlingNews:
In just 2 weeks, Bobby Roode’s “Glorious Domination” theme song (produced and performed by CFO$) has already surpassed 1 million views on YouTube. The song has even surpassed John Cena’s “My Time Is Now” theme that was uploaded to the WWE Music account 8 months ago.
Roode’s theme is behind AJ Styles’ “Phonomenal” theme (1.5 million views) and Shinsuke Nakamura’s “The Rising Sun” theme (3.9 million views) for all-time views on the WWE Music account but, at this rate, Roode should surpass Styles in the next week or so.
Roode’s “Glorious Domination” was also as the #1 soundtrack on iTunes over the weekend and, as of this writing, is still in the top 5.
It won’t be long until you see Roode headlining NXT cards and challenging for the title.
His merch is also flying off the shelves.
