Oklahoma City Thunder star guard Russell Westbrook has agreed to a three-year, $85 million-plus maximum contract renegotiation, league sources told The Vertical.
Westbrook, a five-time All-Star, and his agent, Thad Foucher of Wasserman Media Group, are planning to fly to Oklahoma City on Thursday morning, sign the deal and likely hold a news conference with Thunder ownership and executives, league sources told The Vertical.
So, it wouldn’t a long term extension, but it would give Westbrook some extra cash and the Thunder at least two years to show him they can be a title contender with him being DA MAN. It also puts Russell in position a future 10-year vet to get more money on his max deal as a free agent or if he re-signs with Thunder again.

2016-17: Bump from $17.8 to $26.5 Million
2017-18: $28.5 Million
2018-19 (if he accepted player option: $30.6 Million.
