Cam Newton was renting a house over the summer from Stacy Keibler’s husband. Jeff Pobre told Cam no parties and no smoking and everything was all good until the housekeeper snitched.
Pobre said the housekeeper told the rental company that Newton breached the deal by throwing parties and leaving cigarette ashes all throughout the home.
Pobre claimed he warned Newton that he was violating their deal and to follow the agreement. Cam allegedly didn’t take the warning nicely and told the housekeeper to keep quiet.
After he moved out, Pobre said the house was in ruins, with an expensive fridge broken, water damage to the floors, ruined linens and a destroyed $32,000 rug. The total amount of damages to the property came to $90,324.47, but despite numerous demands for payment, Newton never coughed up the money, according to court papers.
Pobre said the repairs took two months, which cost him an additional $180,000 in lost rent. He sued to demand $270,324.47 from Newton for the rent he lost and the unpaid damages bill.
Tough year for Cameron.
