The emotional roller coaster that was the Jets 2016-2017 season has finally come to an end and although the season is over, there are still some things worth discussing. One source has stated that Christian Hackenberg will never make it in the league.
Year in and year out, the constant joke during the NFL Draft is, “Which quarterback will the Jets draft this year?” Its almost a given that they will draft one but it’s something that they dearly need. Some have said that they should focus on their offensive line first. During the offseason is when many things will be stated but what one anonymous source said was harsh in regards to Christian Hackenberg’s future in the NFL.
One Jets starter simply rolled his eyes and shook his head recently when I asked whether Hackenberg was worth a second-round pick. “No,” the player said.
“He will never make it,” another Jets source told the Daily News. “Never.”
Last time we saw Hackenberg on the field was during the preseason and he threw his first touchdown pass. At this point, it’s still tough to see what the future will bring since Bryce Petty was getting an opportunity.
Much like a few outlets pointed out, this harsh criticism isn’t anything new to the team.
