It sounds like an episode of the old MTV show “Punk’d”. A middle-aged man sporting a fedora leisurely strolled into a convenience store in Los Angeles shortly before midnight on November 11 and managed to rob the store with one hand behind his back.
Literally…
After waiting for all the customers to leave, the suspect walked up to the counter with a bottle of water and told the two cashiers that he had a handgun while holding his hand behind his back. The employees were told to empty the cash registers or be shot.
The overweight robber showed a flash of athleticism as he jumped over the counter and snagged notes from the till. He then jumped back over the counter ran out of the store with the notes.
Security footage show that the man held nothing behind his back but a closed fist. The suspect, described as a White or Hispanic male between the ages of 45 and 65, escaped with $300 in cash that night.
Gives a new meaning to strong armed robbery.
