Spirit Airlines is known for its economical prices but an unidentified woman claims that the low-cost airline carrier booted her off a flight due to her assets. The woman alleges that while on the tarmac in New Orleans waiting to take off on a flight to Fort Lauderdale she was approached by a flight attendant that told her to “cover up”.
Putting on a coat still did not appease the flight attendants and she, as well as a woman who stepped to her defense, was kicked off of the flight. At least two other passengers corroborated the woman’s story on Facebook.
The passengers said that the woman was approached by two attendants who told her that her ‘bosom was too exposed.’ As the woman sat in the seat crying, a second woman came to her defense. One of the passengers wrote:
She tried to pull her top up further to cover more, each time another flight attendant came with the same issue, telling her in loud and rude tones that she’ll have to leave the plane if she can’t get them covered.
After they were asked to de-board the plane, the second woman wrote that she slept in the airport and that she was trying to “protect the meek”.
Donna Prieto, mother of the first woman, states that her daughter was “humiliated” because the attendants were speaking loudly. Spirit spokesman Paul Berry denies that the woman was removed due to cleavage and that it was her behavior which caused her to be asked to de-board.
Nobody was taken off a plane because of cleavage. People are taken off planes because of behavior.
The woman admits to having a beer but denies being drunk. At the same time, Berry acknowledges that the attendant did indeed say to the woman, “By the way, you might want to cover up.”
Sounds like it’s her story, their story, and the truth is sprinkled somewhere in there.
