I don’t understand what the problem is with leggings.
It would be like telling a man he can’t wear sweatpants on a flight (if that was the case I would have been kicked off several planes).
Here is the first hand account of what happened.
1) A @united gate agent isn't letting girls in leggings get on flight from Denver to Minneapolis because spandex is not allowed?

2) She's forcing them to change or put dresses on over leggings or they can't board. Since when does @united police women's clothing?

3) Gate agent for flt 215 at 7:55. Said she doesn't make the rules, just follows them. I guess @united not letting women wear athletic wear?

The United official Twitter account amazingly, doubled down on this dumb rule, remember this is a CHILD.
In our Contract of Carriage, Rule 21, we do have the right to refuse transport for passengers who … https://t.co/52kRVgaCyb

UA shall have the right to refuse passengers who are not properly clothed via our Contract of Carriage. ^FS

A 10-year-old girl in gray leggings. She looked normal and appropriate. Apparently @united is policing the clothing of women and girls. https://t.co/RKsIFoE8pq

As you can imagine this didn’t sit well with people who are now organizing to boycott United.
Flip the page for the twitter reactions and how United flip the script to make it some more reasonable than they originally stated…
