It seems to me that the NFL has made up its mind about Ezekiel Elliott and simply want the whole thing to go away. Elliott who has never been charged with a crime is trying to clear his name after being called a woman’s beater by the NFL.
He is appealing his 6 game suspension, but the NFL won’t let him ask questions to his accuser. PFT has the details.
Per a league source, Henderson has denied a request from Elliott’s representatives to make his accuser, Tiffany Thompson, available to testify. Henderson also has denied requests for notes or transcripts of meetings with Thompson.
Instead, Henderson has required only that Kia Roberts, who was involved in the investigation on the league’s behalf, be available to testify.
And so Elliott will have had no chance to question the key witness in the case, she will have never been placed under oath, and her credibility will have never been tested by either of the people making the key decisions in the case — Henderson now or Commissioner Roger Goodell previously.
If Ezekiel Elliott is guilty he deserves the suspension, but when there is literally a mountain of evidence should at least put some reasonable doubt in any fair’s person mind, why wouldn’t the NFL want to hear why Tiffany Thompson wanted people to lie, thought about extorting Elliott and ruining his life?
Do they care about justice or are they just using Zeke as a scapegoat because they failed so many times in the past with domestic violence situations?
