The rumor mill on UFC’s biggest star Conor McGregor making his WrestleMania debut is picking up steam according to The Sun. McGregor is in talks with Vince McMahon and the WWE to potentially make his pro wrestling debut at WrestleMania 34 in New Orleans on April 8th.
This won’t be the first time that WWE and the UFC do a crossover. Former bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey shocked pro wrestling and MMA fans when she judo tossed Triple H and Stephanie McMahon at WrestleMania 31 in support of The Rock.
WWE failed to land UFC’s Lightweight champion for WrestleMania 33 after both parties couldn’t agree on a financial package. However, McGregor had this to say when asked about trading the octagon for a WWE ring.
“I’d love to go into the WWE and have a real knock. Let one of them have a real knock and see what’s what. But we’ll see. The conversation’s ongoing. I’ve turned down some things. The conversation is ongoing.”
It seems like the WWE is now edging closer to secure McGregor in 2018 and according to The Sun it will be a one-off appearance and that the Irish man will only feud against a top star. With the likes of John Cena, Roman Reigns, Kevin Owens, Seth Rollins, Sheamus, Finn Balor and Bray Wyatt just to name few, one thing is certain, McGregor won’t be short of opponents.
