Meek Mill is currently facing a 2-4 year stint in prison to due probation violation. Judge Genece Brinkley denied Meek any kind of bail due to absurd accusations of him “being a danger to the community.” Brinkley’s vendetta towards Meek started after he didn’t record a cover to a Boyz II Men record in which she wanted him to shout her out on it.
We saw Jay Z pen an op-ed in the New York Times detailing how the system has treated black men like this for centuries and now Al Sharpton is also demanding that Meek be released. He visited Meek in prison and said that he’s a victim of a corrupt justice system in America. He is asking Judge Brinkley to throw out this case.
Sharpton penned a letter to the president judge of the Court of Common Pleas of Philadelphia Judge Shelia A. Woods-Skipper saying that Brinkley does not realize the harm she is inflicting to Meek and that she “has been deaf to the questions raised about her potential conflicts.” Sharpton also said that he wants a judge who is fair and impartial to handle Meek’s case.
