Dan Gilbert Is Thinking About Selling The Cavs, But How He Thinks LeBron James Is Messing With His Money (Video)

The Cavaliers have lost seven games in January and this has caused a lot of frustration in the locker room that is resulting in fingers being pointed at both Kevin Love and Isaiah Thomas. Head Coach Tyronn Lue is also on the hot seat. When asked about his job security, LeBron James said that he hopes he doesn’t get fired but doesn’t know what will happen.

Cavs’ owner Dan Gilbert has now announced today that he wants to sell the team. This comes as a surprise considering the team’s recent success with James returning to Cleveland in 2014. Since then, they have won the NBA Finals along with three straight Finals apperances.

According to ESPN’s Stephen A. Smith, Gilbert wanted a long-term contract extension between 3-5 years from James so he could sell the team at a higher value. With James possibly deciding to not stay in Cleveland this summer, Gilbert could very well be in jeopardy of not selling the Cavs at the rate that he wants.
