It now appears that all beef between Ray Allen and the rest of his Celtics 2008 NBA Finals champions teammates is squashed and he will be invited to their 10-year reunion, according to Gary Washburn of the Boston Globe.
Rajon Rondo, who now plays for the Pelicans, said that all players from that Celtics team can come to their reunion vacation this summer. Washburn reported that Rondo said that there are no exceptions, meaning that Allen can also attend. This comes after bashing the Celtics now for honoring Isaiah Thomas in a few weeks. He said that Thomas hasn’t won anything in Boston.
Prior to this resolution, Rondo asked many of his teammates from that season if they’d be fine with Allen being part of a reunion and they all shook their heads in disapproval. Paul Pierce decided to kill all animosity as he posted a photo with Allen last fall.
Allen, Pierce, and Kevin Garnett were part of Boston’s Big 3 that took the NBA by storm in the summer of 2007. Despite winning it all in 2008, the team was not able to secure another championship as they fell to the Lakers in the NBA Finals in 2010.
